Rosetta:Rendezvous with 67P

A week ago today, the European Space Agency (ESA) successfully landed the probe Philae from the Rosetta drone on comet 67P/Churyumov – Gerasimenko, making it the first in History. We are another step closer in solving scientific mysteries of our solar system and the origin of life.

It’s pretty amazing; after 10 years and a journey of 4 Billion miles, on a rough surface that’s moving with zero gravity!! It’s not as surreal as landing on the moon but it’s a success in it’s own right given comets are thought to have brought water to Earth. So it gets you thinking…well it SHOULD; what was Earth like before water; how did we get here?

I freaking LOVE Science 🙂
